Anything You Want, Phone Hacking, B2B Sales, & Focus
I hope you're having a great week! Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last week:
Book Notes I Added:Anything You Want - Derek Sivers
A fun, motivating read from Derek's lessons building CD Baby (which he ultimately sold for $20M). Along the lines of Seth Godin's thinking.
Articles I'm Reading:
- How to Configure Your iPhone to Work for You, Not Against You - Coach.me - I spent an hour this week configuring my phone according to this guide, and the results are promising so far. I track my phone time using Moment and RescueTime, so I'll report back with before/after results next week.
- B2B Sales - Julian Shapiro - probably the most concise, helpful guide to B2B sales that I've read. The whole Growth handbook is great.
- Thread on focus - Julien Smith, Breather - this struck home for me, as it's a question that I struggle with regularly. What is "enough" focus? How do you know if it's the right thing?
- Studio engineer impression - Twitter - if you're familiar with rap, you'll find this hilarious (*profanity warning*).
Product I'm Using:Airtable
Pitched as a combo spreadsheet/database, this is a super cool product. I've only scratched the surface, but I have no doubt I'll be using it a lot where I would normally have used a spreadsheet. Related, this tweet about "overnight successes" is a good reminder.
Playlist I'm Listening To: EDM Study No Lyrics
This has taken over as my work playlist for the past couple weeks.
Have a great week!
Graham
