My Favorite Media, Survivorship Bias, The Good Life, Eagles & 100 Greatest Movies
Happy Wednesday !
I hope you're having a great week! Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last week:
Blog Post I Wrote: My Favorite Media
This post is an overview of my favorite TV shows, movies, blogs, authors, books and more. I also include some general principles for how I try and consume information.
Book Notes I Added: Models by Mark Manson
Better known for The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, this is a book on dating and love for guys.
Instagram Post: Hiking Gaff Point in Nova Scotia
This is "winter" in Nova Scotia - at least coastal Nova Scotia.
Things I'm Reading:
Map of an eagle's flight for 20 years - Super cool graphic of an eagle in the Middle East. Covers a staggering amount of ground.
Survivorship bias thread - This example from WWII is one of the best examples of survivorship bias I've read.
The secret lives of Facebook moderators in America - The Verge - A pretty bleak look at life as a content moderator.
The 100 Greatest Movies - Empire - This list is one of the best I've seen in terms of "movies I actually want to watch".
Gmail tip - useful Gmail tip if you use multiple accounts on mobile.
Book I'm Reading: The Art of The Good Life - Rolf Dobelli
This is a nice easy read, with 52 principles for living "The Good Life". Each are only 2-3 pages long, so easy to consume in small portions.
What I'm Listening To: Bloom - Edwin Raphael, Juni & 'Til the Morning
Several of my friends debuted new tracks this week, and they're both fantastic! Check them out.
Have a great week!
Graham
