Living to 180, Traveling in Iraq, Sporks and Charlie Munger
Happy Wednesday !
I hope you're having a great week! I've been traveling Sunday - today, so some airplane time has meant lots of catching up on reading.
Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last week:
Articles I'm Reading:
A Grand Plan to Clean the Great Pacific Garbage Patch - New Yorker - Fascinating read about a young entrepreneur trying to clean the ocean.
The Bulletproof Coffee Founder Has Spent $1 Million in His Quest to Live to 180 - Men's Health - I'm pretty interested in living as healthy as possible and "biohacking" - but this is a whole different level.
My Crazy Kurdistan Road Trip - Outside Magazine - Pretty wild story about a trip to Iraq. For the most part follows my theory that people are generally kind and far less nuts than most Western media portray them, but at the same time, these places can be dangerous in other ways (like landmines)...
There's Only One Thing to Do With Today: Seize It - Ryan Holiday - Your regular motivational Stoicism piece from Ryan Holiday.
Book I'm Reading: Charlie Munger: The Complete Investor - Tren Griffin
This book is more focused on how to be a successful value investor than on the man himself, like Poor Charlie's Almanack, but useful nonetheless. This gets into details on how they evaluate companies that aren't detailed in other books, which is very interesting.
Product I'm Using: Spork - Light My Fire
These are plastic, I know, but they're light and cheap, and I bought a few to keep in various bags while traveling. Saved me a lot of plastic cutlery this week. Now to figure out how to not use disposable plates at hotel continental breakfasts...
Song I'm Listening To: Janet - M.T. Hadley
A very sad song, but extremely relaxing and likely to get stuck in your head.
Have a great week!
Graham
