Psychedelics, Feeling Overwhelmed, 50 Best Podcasts & Generating 8-Figure Revenue
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I enjoyed spending time with family, getting lots of reading done, and getting some photography time in. As I've been away for a few weeks, this version will be a little longer than usual...enjoy.
Blog Post I Wrote:Fighting Anxiety - How to Cope When Feeling Overwhelmed
In the week or so before the holidays I found myself in a strange place - feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed. Thankfully it's a rare occurrence for me, but I know it isn't for many people. This article serves as my guide for when I'm feeling this way, and I hope it helps you too.
Book Notes I Added:How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan - The journalist & writer's recent book on the history and use of psychedelics, including his own anecdotal experience. Fascinating.
Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins - David Goggins is a former SEAL who also completed Army Ranger training, and completed many ultra-marathons, among other things. An incredible story from his childhood abuse to losing 107 pounds in 3 months. Easy to read and motivating.
The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene- One of my favourite authors, this book tackles not only seduction in the sexual sense, but how universal principles apply to politics, advertising, and more.
Articles I'm Reading:
- The 50 Best Podcast Episodes of 2018 - IndieWire - I got back into podcasts over the break (driving more will do that), and I'm going to be working my way through these ones over the next while.
- How to Develop Better Habits in 2019 - Ryan Holiday - No doubt on the mind of many as they implement New Year's Resolutions, this is a helpful piece. Based on many of the principles in Atomic Habits, which I highly recommend.
- What is Going to Happen in 2019 - Fred Wilson - Some interesting predictions from this New York VC. Keep in mind Nassim Nicholas Taleb's thoughts on predictions.
Podcast I'm Listening To: The Tim Ferriss Show - How to Generate 8-Figure Income at Age 21 (or Any Age)
This is the kind of story that originally drew me to entrepreneurship - two college kids who developed some back-support products, and within two years are doing 8-figures in revenue on Amazon. Crazy!
Have a great week!
Graham
