New podcast, education, life is a game, and Tom Brady

Happy Wednesday !

Some of you will be first-time recipients of this email - I realized some signups on my website weren't pushing emails to my email client, so welcome! (and sorry for the delay)

I spent the past week in LA, first for a conference, and then visiting some friends (who are working on this), and as usually happens when I have a long flight, it's been a productive week! I hope you had a great weekend as well.

Podcast: Ep. #4 - Jeff Lohnes on Toronto vs. Halifax, Being a Great Speaker, and Becoming an Entrepreneur

Jeff Lohnes grew up in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia, and attended St. Mary's University in Halifax, before moving to Toronto and is now founder of Talent Bureau, and Curator for TEDxToronto. We talk about his work experiences, his interest in brands and speaking, and the move from the East Coast to Toronto, among other things.

Articles:

I managed to get through my (very) long Pocket queue on a flight this week, so there's a variety here, but all are fantastic.

Book Notes: Mistakes Were Made (but Not by Me) - Carol Tavris & Elliot Aronson

An introduction to cognitive bias and self-justification that focuses on historical and real-world examples, including how relationships degrade, criminal investigations, and more. Great read, and a great introduction to the world of biases and mental models.

Watching: Tom vs. Time

Despite the Pats losing the Superbowl, Tom Brady is still planning to continue playing. This video series goes behind the scenes with him, examining different aspects of his training and game, and it's fascinating.

Have a great week!

Graham
