My First 3 Months at Unito, Flying Spiders, Doctors and Fantasy Books
It's been two weeks since the last newsletter, but I've been revamping a bit how I prepare and compose these, so breaks should be infrequent in future.
Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last couple weeks:
Blog Post I Wrote:My First 3 Months at Unito
I'm past 3 months now (more like 4), but I put together a few of my initial thoughts as a follow-up to the post I wrote about why I was joining Unito. In short, I've been loving it, but there have been some things to get used to.
Articles I'm Reading:
- On Writing - JK Rowling - A short piece of suggestions for writing from JK Rowling, who knows a thing or two.
- Spiders Can Fly Hundreds of Miles Using Electricity - The Atlantic - Perhaps not something you'd like to know, but fascinating.
- The Bell Curve - Atul Gawande - A New Yorker piece on the competence of doctors from the same doctor who wrote The Checklist Manifesto.
Book I'm Reading:La Belle Sauvage - Philip Pullman
I haven't been reading as much lately, and when that happens, I trick myself back into a reading habit by reading easy-to-read fiction. In this case, I got into Philip Pullman's latest series, as well as going back to re-reading The Golden Compass.
Product I'm Using:Parachase G9 Umbrella
My umbrella blew up in a storm the other day, and I was looking for an upgrade. I didn't go as far as buying an umbrella as storm-proof as a Blunt umbrella, but this one has been great so far. I prefer having a handle when possible.
Have a great week!
Graham
