A Trillion Dollars, Secret Maps, What We Should Teach & How We Should Sleep
Happy Wednesday !
I hope you're having a great week!
This week turned out to be a busy one for me - I had a bachelor party Thursday - Sunday, and then spent Monday moving. As a result, I didn't get as much reading done, but I did find some fun things on Twitter!
Expect more of the usual reads next week.
Book Notes I Posted: Trillion-Dollar Coach - Eric Schmidt
The name of this book comes from the fact that the main character, Bill Campbell, coached founders in Silicon Valley that have built well in excess of a trillion dollars in market cap, including the founders of Apple and Google, simultaneously. The fact that such a guy exists is interesting enough to make the book worth the read.
Articles I'm Reading:
'Top Secret' maps reveal the massive Allied effort behind D-Day - National Geographic - The anniversary of D-Day passed on June 6; this is a cool look at how it was planned and executed.
UI wizardry - A simple tweet that reveals just how much design can influence us.
Lux train travel is coming back - I love traveling by train, and this seems like a great way to do it.
Things we should really teach in school - what would you add?
Book I'm Reading: Why We Sleep - Matthew Walker
I pay close attention to my sleep, and this book (and the TED talk) have been doing the rounds. He's against caffeine and alcohol.
Photo from My Weekend: Friday evening of the bachelor party was spent golfing near Mont Tremblant in Quebec, and it was a beautiful evening indeed (though I forgot my golf shoes).
Have a great week!
Graham
