Jay-Z, NBA Super-Rich, Cabins and Tennis
I hope you're having a great week! Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last week:
Book Notes I Added:The Inner Game of Tennis
While tennis is the core example in this book, it's really about more than that. This is the most interesting book I've read about learning physical skills. The learning principles apply over a much larger scope, but the focus on allowing our body to learn, and "not thinking" is fascinating.
Articles I'm Reading:
- 32 Thoughts from a 32-Year Old - Ryan Holiday - Ryan Holiday's (mostly) annual post about things he's learned is full of great advice.
- The House That Hova Built - T Magazine - This profile of Jay-Z, allegedly the world's first rapper worth $1B+ (according to Forbes), paints a picture of a humble and thoughtful businessman.
- Meet the Money-Whisperer to the Super-Rich NBA Elite - NYT - Fun story about the guy managing much of the richest basketball players' money. I'm glad someone is doing it.
Design I'm Admiring:AYFRAYM Cabin
This 1574 square foot A-frame (get it?) cabin is beautiful, and is designed to be build for less than $300K.
Song I'm Listening To: Astronaut - City and Colour
New single from Canadian band City and Colour that should be on your summer playlist.
Have a great week!
Graham
