Awair, Hardware Development, Data Visualization, Passive Income and Writing Well

Happy Wednesday !

I hope you're having a good week. The newsletter is a little late this week as I've been packing up my apartment before heading off to Costa Rica next week. Anyway, here's what I've been working on and checking out the last week!

Blog Post I Wrote: Awair 2nd Edition Home Air Quality Monitor Review

The Awair is a smart home device that monitors air quality: temperature, humidity, CO2, VOC and dust levels. I found the device when searching for a method to figure out my perfect sleep temperature. This article is my full review.

Articles I'm Reading:

Illustrated Guide to Product Development - Ben Einstein - This is a cool Medium series about hardware product development. For those interested in how hardware startups build products from scratch, the whole series is a great read.

How to Be More Productive and Eliminate Time Wasting Activities Using the "Eisenhower Box" - James Clear - This is related to the article I wrote last week on decision making and re-iterates how to prioritize your tasks.

Mistakes, We've Drawn a Few - Sarah Leo - Insightful read on some of the errors The Economist recognized in their own data visualization.

How to Make Passive Income - Nat Eliason - Enjoyed this article from Nat on the various options for making passive income, based on his own experience.

Book I'm Reading: On Writing Well - William Zinsser

I haven't put up book notes for this yet, but it was fantastic. I've been reading more about writing well lately, and this book is filled with simple rules, supported by lots of examples of great writing. I wish I'd read it when I was younger.

Product I'm Interested In: Kin (an alternative to alcohol)

Kin calls their drinks "euphorics", and they use a variety of "nootropics, adaptogens & botanics" to create a drink that gives a euphoric feeling without the alcohol (and therefore the hangover). I think this could be a big product, given how much "drinks" serve as a social lubricant and purpose for getting together. I'm certainly interested to try it. Here's a review from someone who has.

Have a great week!

Graham
