Happy Wednesday!

The newsletter returns after another (extended) summer hiatus.

A lot has changed for me in the past couple months.

In late July, I made the tough decision to leave the company I'd been with for over 6 years, Unito.

There were a variety of factors, but ultimately I was ready for something new, and taking on new projects that were demanding more of my time.

I'll forever be grateful to Marc and Eryk, the founders at Unito, for the opportunities they gave me, and for all the amazing people I worked with—working with them was the hardest part about leaving.

I took some time off to enjoy the summer, do a little traveling, and go to a couple weddings.

But now I'm back full-time working on some exciting projects that I'll share in the coming months.

The first of those projects is developing a piece of land here in Nova Scotia.

The long-term vision is bigger, but for now I'm working on building a couple sheds (one for utilities, the other to eventually become an office) and a couple cottages.

I've long wanted to learn how to build, and to build a place of my own, and over the past year I've been learning how to do just that.

I'll be sharing updates online here, where for now I'm calling it "DIY Eco Homes." You can sign up to get emailed whenever I post a new update, though I'll share them in this newsletter as well.

I'm also building out a blog around the topic here.​

Otherwise, I'll be spending my spare time continuing to learn all the latest in AI and building software products, and I'll share more of that here as I get into it too.

📚 Book Notes: A Place of My Own - Michael Pollan - Inspired by Walden, this is Pollan's tale of building himself a small space for writing and relaxation, and the journey and inspiration for it.

Pollan is one of the most beautiful writers I've ever read, and this was one of the many inspirations for me wanting to build something of my own too.

🎥 Washington Square Park Freestyle - ARIatHOME - This guy makes beats off the cuff, and finds people around New York to freestyle or sing over them. He is wildly talented and so are the people he meets up with.
