A couple special announcements for the 300th issue

ByGraham Mann

Somehow this is the 300th edition of this weekly newsletter, which I never would have predicted when I got started.

So I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to all of you who read it.

It's still one of my favorite things to get emails from new subscribers all over the world, get replies to emails with comments, or to hear that something I've shared has helped someone else.

So: thank you!

Given that it's the 300th edition, I've got a couple special notes as well:

1. There's now a referral program!

You'll see at the bottom of the newsletter a section for referrals and rewards. If you enjoy the newsletter, please share it with friends/family/colleagues/anyone you think may find it useful.

2. I'm thinking about starting a book club community

The idea would be to pick the top 5 books in a category (productivity, leadership, management, etc.), and do a 4-6 week sprint to read those books.

The focus would be on:

  1. Establishing a reading habit
  2. Maximizing learning when reading books
  3. Applying the lessons of those books to your life & work

If you'd be interested in joining the community, hit reply and let me know.

Once again, thank you for reading.

Can't wait to write the next 300!

Have a great week.

Graham

📚 Book Notes: Million Dollar Weekend - Noah Kagan -I've followed Noah Kagan for a long time, so I was keen to read his book when it came out.

It didn't disappoint. I credit The 4-Hour Workweek with getting me into entrepreneurship, and I think this is even better if your aim is to start a business as quickly as possible.

It's a quick read and very actionable and clear. Anyone can follow the steps and start towards building their own business.

🎧 Noah Kagan—How to Launch a Million-Dollar Business This Weekend - The Tim Ferriss Show - If you prefer audio, this podcast covers a lot of the content of the book.

They also cover a lot more material than just the book, so it's a good complement to the book if you do decide to read it.

📖 The 6 Causes of Burnout (and How to Avoid It) - Scott Young - One of the things I found most interesting from Ali Abdaal's Feel-Good Productivity was the fact that burnout isn't only caused by overwork, nor does it only manifest itself in things like sickness/stress/etc.

Cynicism, ineffectiveness, lack of enthisiasm—these can all be signs of burnout too. This article does a good job outlining the different aspects of burnout and how to avoid it/get back on track.
