Guessing Games, The Messy Middle, The Long Game & Claire Ridgely

Happy Wednesday !

I hope you're having a great week! Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last week:

Articles I'm Reading:

The Surprising Power of the Long Game - Shane Parrish: A classic article from the Farnam Street blog that I keep going back to.

Conscious consumerism is a lie. Here’s a better way to help save the world - Quartz: An examination of conscious consumerism that I stumbled upon in my continued research of zero-waste/environmental footprint.

Game I'm Playing: GeoGuessr

This is a game based on Google Maps - essentially it drops you somewhere random in the world, shows you the Street View, and then you have to guess where it is. Very fun, and a cool use of Google Maps.

Book Notes: SNAP Selling - Jill Konrath

This book is admittedly relevant for a smaller group - best suited for those involved in sales, specifically business-to-business sales. That said, it's one of the most relevant sales books I've read for the modern world.

Book I'm Reading: The Messy Middle - Scott Belsky

I met Scott at Techstars NYC, and I've followed him closely since. He's the founder of Behance, and now is leading much of the amazing product work Adobe continues to do. This book is all about the complicated, painful, time-consuming, "messy" middle part of a venture that gets glossed over.

Song I'm Listening To: Friends Again (feat. Claire Ridgely) - LVTHER, Claire Ridgely

Claire is a friend of mine with an amazing voice, and she has a new single coming out November 16. You can follow her on Spotify here, and I'd recommend checking out this playlist of songs she's featured on.

Have a great week!

Graham
