Young (Almost) Billionaires, Cave Diving and Hiring
I hope you're having a great week. I promise next week I'll be back to the regular Wednesday email.
Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last couple weeks:
Articles I'm Reading:
- 55+ Nova Scotia Photographers & Influencers You Need to Follow - Saltwreck, whose beautiful prints I've mentioned before, published a post full of some awesome photographers and influencers - check them out! (I'm in there somewhere).
- How 20-Year-Old Kylie Jenner Built A $900 Million Fortune In Less Than 3 Years - Forbes - Regardless of what you think of the Kardashians, this is a fascinating story, and gives some context to how much influence the Kardashians hold.
- Tips for Hiring Women in Tech From a Female CEO Who Had Trouble Hiring Women in Tech - Kendall Tucker - Kendall is a good friend of mine, and this is a great article about some of the things they struggled with trying to hire women in tech.
- How to Hire the Best People You've Ever Worked With - Marc Andreessen - a classic post related to the above.
Movie I'm Watching:Sanctum
An objectively bad movie (acting and script are not good), but the closest thing I think you can find to the recent story about the Thai boys trapped in a cave, and the struggles the rescuers had to go through to get them. In a sad, crazy coincidence, the diver who acted a scene in the movie in which her character dies, died the exact same way, in the caves used for filming, just after the film was released.
Have a great week!
Graham
