Productivity Tips, Holding Your Breath, and the Science of Timing
ByGraham Mann
I hope you're having a great week. Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last couple weeks:
Articles I'm Reading:
- Productivity - Sam Altman - the president of startup accelerator Y-Combinator shares his productivity tips.
- Mystery of sea nomads' amazing ability to freedive is solved - a fascinating article about the Bajau people of Southeast Asia, who have adapted to hold their breath while freediving for long periods of time. Spoiler: they have larger spleens.
- The Case Against Lectures - related to some of the suggestions in When, this explores how education could be improved by changing how we teach in university.
Book Notes:
- When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing - Daniel Pink - absolutely fascinating book about timing in life, work and more, including the formula for a perfect nap (I've tested and can confirm).
- 48 Laws of Power - Robert Greene - I finally got my notes together for this book, which is a classic. Takes a while to get through, but worth it; it's a book I'll continue to revisit.
Have a great week!
