Morning Routines, Helicopter Crashes, Seeing Magnetic Fields and Selling Daily
I hope you're having a great week. Here are some things I've been checking out and working on the last couple weeks:
Blog Post:My Morning Routine - 7 Things to Win the Day
I've been tweaking my morning routine for a long time, and it continues to change, but this is the format I've found to be best for me, as well as general tips for building your own routine, and why you should make the effort.
Articles:
- Inside the Safety Issues Surrounding the NY Helicopter Crash - This one hit close-ish to home, as I'd considered doing this tour when I was living in NYC, and thought about it for an upcoming visit in May. I've seen the training oil rig personnel do for this exact situation, and it's scary, but obviously necessary to have a shot at survival.
- The 12 Startups from Techstars NYC Winter 2018 Program - As usual, another group of awesome startups (this is the program we completed last spring with Lean Systems).
- China Viewed from Above - Stunning aerial photos showing the diversity of China's landscapes and life.
- Birds Can See Earth's Magnetic Fields, and We Finally Know How That's Possible - Fascinating science, including a best guess at what birds "see" when viewing magnetic fields.
Book Notes:To Sell is Human - Daniel Pink
I picked up this book to improve professionally, but ultimately it's about how to listen better, and "move others" - something we all do every day.
What I'm Watching: My Next Guest Needs No Introduction: JAY-Z
I've been watching the whole series, but this was one of my favourite episodes so far. Letterman seems very pensive these days, and JAY-Z very wise.
Hope you have a great week!
Graham
