Pebble Watches, Black Ice & Desk Setup

ByGraham Mann

I hope you're having a great week. Big snowstorm here in Montreal/the Northeast this week. Good weather for catching up on reading and work.

Articles:

  • Top 10 Replicated Findings from Behavioral Genetics - psychology/behavioral studies has been suffering a bit lately as people realize how difficult it is to replicate many studies. That said, here are some pretty interesting findings, many of which relate to the old nature vs. nurture parenting arguments.
  • The Inside Story Behind Pebble's Demise - this is an old story, but I found it fascinating to re-read, particularly because we don't always hear about the failures of startups - in fact, I think the only reason this one made news was because it was once so high-profile.
  • Video: Walking on Black Ice in Antarctica - self-explanatory, and really cool.

Product:Desk Stand and Monitor Mount
One of the things I did after moving back to Montreal was upgrade my desk from the one I'd cobbled together from Ikea parts circa 2014 (before they had legit ones) and got this one from Ikea instead. It's great, but what really made it awesome was this laptop/monitor mount - it clears everything off my desk, and puts the monitor at a much more comfortable height.

Song: dvsn - Hallucinations
On repeat for work this week.

Have a great week, and enjoy St. Patrick's day weekend celebrations (not too much, though).
