📚 Book: The Power of Regret - Daniel Pink - I'm about halfway through this, and I've been reminded how good a writer Pink is. The book is also excellent so far, with much of it focused on the widest study ever done on regret (conducted by Pink and his team over the last several years).
📖 The Laws of Simplicity - Farnam Street - There are few things that have become more of a mantra for me than "Less but better." I've come to view simplicity as a necessity for a happy life, and a superpower when it comes to achieving what I want. This FS article is based on The Laws of Simplicity, a book by John Maeda on my re-read list for this year, and offers 10 simple rules on how to simplify.
📖 Top 10 Wearable Tech Companies on the Rise - Russ Rizzo - AngelList - Big shoutout to my friends over at FightCamp, who made this list (and the headline photo) alongside some great companies like WHOOP.
📖 Exposed by a Strava KOM: the many lives of a fake pro cyclist - Iain Treloar - CyclingTips - This strange, sad story is about Nick Clark, a person who is essentially a con man. The number of lives he's lived is remarkable, having made it from CEO of a legitimate corporation (built on fake credentials) to a bike shop and team owner, and now as a gun instructor. The story is an allegory of the state of truth in wider society today.
📖 Evolution Didn't Wire Us for Eight Hours of Sleep - Elizabeth Preston - The Atlantic - The title is a bit misleading, but articles like this are a good reminder about the limitations of our knowledge when it comes to things like sleep (we rarely know for sure as much as we think we do).

One of the highlights of my week was having some friends visit with their brand-new Bernese/Pyrenees puppy. I'm glad I'm not the one who has to train him though!
