Weekly Mix #207 - Writing, 9/11, Reversing Aging, Professional Webcams & Productivity Hacks
Happy Monday!
This was the first week that really felt like fall.
Some people lament the end of summer, and it can be sad; the weather is cooler, days are shorter, and people head home from summer vacation.
But seasons, just like any landmark in time—the start of a new week, a new month, a new year—are a great opportunity for us to use the change for good.
Daniel Pink's When is all about timing: when to start new things, when to work, to nap, etc.
Part of his advice is to "use...temporal landmarks to create new beginnings."
I've often found cities really come alive in the fall; people come back from summer vacation, school starts, and it seems like there's extra energy in the air.
Even if this perception is in my own head, it can serve a useful purpose.
As we move into the fall, use the change in the weather, your location, your work or studies—whatever!—to create new beginnings. I know I will.
Have a great week!
Graham

📖 'I Was Responsible for Those People' - The Atlantic - In many ways, 9/11 has defined a lot of North American political life in the past 20 years. There are many personal stories around 9/11, and this is just one, but it reminds us how much 9/11 affected individual lives.

🔧 Opal C1 Webcam - I'm surprised it's taken this long, but this webcam incorporates a super-fast 4K Sony lens, and a special microphone array to eliminate background noise, for $300 USD instead of the cost of a proper mirrorless camera. I want one.
