Weekly Mix #201 - Inspiring Lists, The Alt Tour & Constructive Disagreement
Happy Tuesday!
I hope you're managing to take some time to enjoy the summer and the loosening COVID restrictions.
I'm now two weeks past my second dose and travel is opening up a little bit.
Of course, the newsletter continues to be a little late, but only for good reasons...I've been spending as much time outdoors over the weekend as possible.
Hope you're all doing the same!
Have a wonderful week.
Graham

📚 Hell Yeah or No - Derek Sivers - I finally read Derek's book (that I bought last year), and realized how much I'd forgotten I love his writing. Short tidbits of wisdom, refreshing and easy to read. Most of the book are essays that you can read at the link. Here are my notes on Anything You Want, his first book.
📖 Things you're allowed to do - Milan Cvitkovic - Following up on the article last week on How to trade money and time, here's a list of inspiring things to give yourself permission to do.
📖 33 Ways To Simplify Your Life (And Be Happier For It) - Rob Kemp - Continuing the theme of inspiring lists, here's another one for ways to simplify your life. I've tried most at one time or another, and will be looking to restart some I've dropped.
📖 What's More Strenuous Than the Tour de France? - WHOOP - I enjoyed watching both the Tour de France and pro cyclist Lachlan Morton's Alt Tour over the past several weeks. He decided to do the Tour de France route, included transfers, self-supported, which was ~225 hours on the bike over 18 days. This gives some insight into his strain and recovery data, as he was wearing a WHOOP band (what I use for activity & sleep tracking).

One other thing from Twitter this week that I wanted to highlight...Nat Eliason rose some questions about Hone, a company promoting testosterone therapy for men. Here are parts one, two, three, and four.
The questions raised are good, but I wanted to highlight the disagreement itself; Sam Parr, one of the investors, engaged, but both Nat and Sam were polite, asking good questions, and conceding good points from the other side.
We need more of that kind of disagreement.
