Weekly Mix #186 - Time, BitClout, WeWork, Pseudonyms, Randomness & F1

Happy Monday!

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on the newsletter last week.

As a result, I'm going to try out a new format. You'll find my personal musings, writing, etc. in this first section, and then the collection of links in the second section.

The descriptions for those links are going to be much shorter—just a few sentences.

I hope the end result will be an easier-to-read, less overwhelming newsletter!

If you have more feedback, please let me know.

What I Worked On

Blog Post: Valuing Time - Two techniques I've found helpful for generating urgency and valuing my time

Podcast: Started a Personal Podcast, which you can listen to here (list of other podcasts being created here)

Short Essays: My two most popular short essays this week were Be Humble and Taking Criticism

Have a wonderful week!

Graham

Links

📖 We (might) Work - Scott Galloway - A look at how real estate has changed during the pandemic (a lot), and why WeWork might make sense in the new normal.

📖 Inside BitClout, the Dystopian Social Network with Big Backers and Vocal Critics - Jeff John Roberts - BitClout, a "decentralized social network" has made waves the past couple weeks, with brand-name investors and lots of publicity. But it raises a lot of questions, namely, if we should have a stock market for people. Another interesting take here ($).

🎧 Balaji Srinivasan on The Tim Ferriss Show - Hidden identities? Pseudonyms? What the future of work might look like, and how you should prepare yourself.

📚 Fooled by Randomness by Nassim Nicholas Taleb - I finally read the first of NNT's books, and it reminded me how much I enjoy his writing. The most digestible of his major books.

🍿 Drive to Survive, Season 3 - If you enjoy sport, you'll enjoy this series. Formula 1 is a unique mix of money, ego and high drama. Highly entertaining series.
