Hackers, Cabins, Tiny Homes & Collective Knowledge
I hope you had a great week, and have something fun planned for the weekend. Here are some things I found interesting from the past week:
Articles I'm Reading:
- The Confessions of Marcus Hutchins, the Hacker Who Saved the Internet - Wired - At 22, Marcus Hutchins stopped the worst cyberattack ever. He was then arrested by the FBI for crimes committed during his youth. A story of redemption, and a look into the dedication of some of the world's top computer experts.
- Cabins We Wouldn't Mind Being Stuck in Right Now - Outside Magazine - Living spaces and potential designs are constantly on my mind right now. Here are another selection of cool cabins.
- The Pedal-to-the-Metal, Totally Illegal, Cross-Country Sprint for Glory - Wired - Originally published in 2007, this is an even more detailed look at the Cannonball run, the race which has become much more prominent due to coronavirus.
- The United Nations produced a Tiny Home - LifeEdite - An example of a very innovative, entirely self-contained tiny home.
- Obscure PDFs - Reddit - A compilation of PDFs from across disciplines, almost all interesting, and a great place to dig into little-known troves of information.
Product I'm Looking At:Nuclino
I've been wondering what the best solution for storing collective knowledge at a company is lately, as it's a problem we've been running into at Unito (we're completely based in Google Drive). This looks like a good alternative to a typical wiki solution like Confluence.
Music I'm Listening To/Watching:Cercle
Electronic DJs doing sets in absolutely stunning locations. These are mesmerizing, and make great work/study playlists too. Lee Burridge is currently one of my favourite sets. Here are some examples of the locations:
Bali:
Chamonix, France:
Salt flats in Bolivia:
Have a great week!
