Reading Effectively, Work Life Balance, Personal Competitive Advantage and Shipping Traffic
I hope you're having a great week! I've been traveling a bit the past couple weeks (Calgary > Texas > LA), which means lots of reading time on airplanes (and writing time in airports). Here's some of what I've been checking out:
Blog Post I Wrote:How to Read a Book: A Guide to Making the Most of What You Read
I read quite a bit last year, but wasn't happy with my retention and mastery of the material I'd read. This is the guide I wrote to solve that problem, and it should help anyone looking to make the most of what they read.
What I'm Reading:
- The State of Work Life Balance in 2019 - RescueTime - I used RescueTime to track my working hours and productivity, and their report on trends from their tracking software is very interesting.
- Sources of personal competitive advantage - Shane Parrish - I enjoyed this list - what would you add?
- Cool visualization of plane and ship traffic
What I'm Watching:One Breath Around the World
An absolutely stunning short film featuring free diver Guillaume Néry interacting with everything from sharks to sperm whales. Beautiful.
Have a great week!
Graham
