Bad Blood, Billionaire Morals, Book Recommendations & Going All-In
Happy Monday!
The last couple weeks have been busy, between some travel, work, and spending a little more time getting back into some reading.
Hence the absence of a newsletter last week!
However, as with all habits, it's important not to miss twice—thanks James Clear—so on to this week's newsletter.

📚 Book: Bad Blood - John Carreyrou - This is the story of Theranos, the blood-testing company that turned out to be a fraud, leading the founder, Elizabeth Holmes, to be jailed. It's a good reminder of what a toxic workplace looks like, and how much investment and startup hype is a game of psychology (and who vouches for who).
📖 The moral calculations of a billionaire - Eli Saslow - The Washington Post - An excellent profile of billionaire Leon Cooperman, with a focus on the meaning of more wealth, and what can be done with it.
📖 The US Tried Permanent Daylight Saving Time in the '70s. People Hated It - Andrew Beaujon - Washingtonian - Eliminating daylight savings time has come up again, though apparently the US has tried it before. I personally dislike it; there are all kinds of consequences to messing with the time. But there are downsides to eliminating daylight savings too.
📖 Books That Have Changed People's Lives - Hannah Loewentheil - Buzzfeed - I'm usually wary of anything Buzzfeed, but if you're looking for the next book to read, there are lots of good recommendations here.
🎧 All-In Podcast - I go through phases with podcasts, listening to lots and then completely stopping. This is the latest to get me back on the listening train. This one covers everything from current events, to startups, to the latest tech breakthroughs. Some incredibly smart people offering different points of views and opinions. I appreciate their willingness to disagree and the combination of liberal and conservative viewpoints.
