Unito's Series A, Forming Habits, Unlearning Lessons & Remote Pubs
Happy Wednesday !
I hope you're had a great week. This very late, weekend edition of the newsletter is a result of a very busy couple work weeks with not a lot of time or extra reading!
This week was a big one for us at Unito, with the announcement of our Series A funding round of $10.5M, led by Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), a Tier 1 VC fund based in Silicon Valley.
If you're interested in learning more, here are a few articles worth checking out:
TechCrunch: the most prominent coverage of the funding.
BVP blog: A look inside why Bessemer chose to invest.
Unito blog: Our own announcement of the funding, new features and partnerships.
Now on to the usual stuff!
Blog Post I Wrote: How to Form Good Habits (and Break Bad Ones)
This post is meant to be complementary to last week's about how I do my end-of-year review. This is everything I've learned about how to form habits that will last. Being able to build good habits is arguably one of the most valuable skills you can possess, as it feeds everything else, and compounds over time.
Articles I'm Reading:
The Lesson to Unlearn - Paul Graham - Perfectly encapsulates one of my biggest struggles post-university (and during, honestly). What are "good grades" in the real world?
The Two Kinds of Moderate - Paul Graham - He's been publishing great essays lately, and this is another one about the difference between moderate on all things, and moderate on average.
My Journey to Scotland's Most Remote Pub - Outside - For those of who who appreciate hiking, beer, Scotland, or any combination of the three.
The Incredibly Happy Life of Larry David, TV's Favorite Grouch - GQ - A look at the real Larry David (spoiler: he's a lot like the TV version). I enjoy the show, but don't think I could stand actually spending much time with him.
Have a great week(end)!
Graham
