Mastering Money, Best Carry-On Combo, and Cheating at Design
Happy Wednesday !
I hope you're having a great week. I'm in Orlando, Florida this week for a conference, and it is hot - sadly I'm inside too much of the time to fully enjoy it.
The last couple weeks I've been thinking and reading a lot about finance and the environment - will likely be writing some on those topics soon.
In the meantime, here's what I've been checking out this week:
Articles I'm Reading:
The Full Stack Startup - Andreessen Horowitz: Quick interview article about how companies are shifting towards owning all aspects of a product/service to create a much better experience, and capture more value.
Sell Your By-Products - Jason Fried: Good piece on how you should sell the things you do or produce on the side/as a result of things you already do.
7 Practical Tips for Cheating at Design: I actually love design, but I haven't found the time to dedicate to learning how to do it well. This is a quick guide to help people like me.
Book I'm Reading: Money: Master the Game - Tony Robbins
A long, but interesting book about finance, based on interviews with many of the world's top financial experts. Uncovers a lot of the myths about the money and investing world. I knew much of it previously, but still learned a lot. Tony's newest book, Unshakeable, is sort of a short summary if you don't want to read the long version.
Products I'm Using: Aer Flight Pack + Samsonite Carry-On
I've linked Aer products before, but I'm just using the combination bag + carry-on suitcase for the first time, and it is wonderful.
The key features of the Aer backpack that make it so useful? The straps stow and theres a sleeve to slide it onto the carry-on handle so they easily stay together, and it converts to a decent-looking messenger bag so I'm not the guy in a suit at the conference carrying around a dumb-looking backpack.
I bought the Samsonite carry-on during Prime Day, but it's still available for pretty cheap, and it looks great for the price.
Quote I'm Thinking About:
“The things you own end up owning you.”
― Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club
Have a great week!
